Introduction

Nepal is a multilingual, multi-ethnic, and multi-religious country. Syuba is one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. Sadly though, the Syuba language is one of the endangered languages. This people group is known as "Kagate" in Nepali and “Syuba” in the Syuba’s own language. Even if the Syuba community speak their own language, and practises their own culture, art, religion, beliefs, and customs, they are not recognized by the government as a unique ethnic group. The Syuba population is about three thousand.
